Everyday Things That Make You Feel More Like You
On Value and Minimalism
Title: What does “better” really mean?
When I tell people I try to live minimally, they sometimes ask:
“So you don’t buy expensive things?”
Or, “You’re all about function, right?”
I usually say,
“I may own less, but I try to choose better.”
But what is better, really?
It doesn’t always mean more expensive.
Often, it simply means more considered.
Take clothes.
Not the one you bought on impulse because it was on sale,
but the one made from fabric you love, in a design that feels like you.
Every time you wear it, it makes you feel more like yourself.
That’s not about price—it’s about connection.
Or even a bar of hand soap—
not the cheapest one in the multi-pack,
but one with a scent you love,
that makes washing your hands feel like a small moment of care.
It's not about luxury.
It's about the experience of using something that quietly improves your day.
As a founder, these are the questions I return to again and again.
What makes something worth using every day?
What makes it feel like a part of who you are?
Our toothpaste isn’t the cheapest option on the shelf.
But it’s something you use two or three times a day.
And I wanted that routine to feel like something more—
not just good for your teeth, but good for you.
Something that feels thoughtful. Clean. Grounding.
That’s why we choose better ingredients.
We produce in smaller batches.
We use methods that are gentler on the planet.
Yes, that makes it a bit more expensive for now.
But we’re not building a luxury brand.
We’re building something that feels better to use—
and better to make, too.
As we grow, we hope to bring the price down—
so more people can enjoy a daily ritual that’s kinder to themselves and to the Earth.
Until then, my hope is simple:
That using Tidalove makes your everyday feel a little more intentional,
a little more beautiful,
and a little more yours.
With love,
