Making Space for What Matters
For Anyone Trying to Do More with Less
I’ve gotta be honest—being a minimalist was never really my thing. I’m the type who gets attached to stuff, and I have a serious weakness for beautiful things. And let’s be real, the world is full of beautiful things, right?

But everything shifted when I became a mom of two. My youngest had to have heart surgery at just six months old, and it turned my world upside down. Between working full-time, taking care of my oldest, and looking after my baby, I was completely drained. That experience forced me to pause and really think about what mattered most in life.

The first thing I did was look for ways to simplify. I started by cutting back on housework because, honestly, I just wanted more time with my kids. From there, minimalism started to feel less like a trend and more like a necessity. Eventually, I left my job and decided to start a business from home.
While decluttering, I had a bit of a wake-up call: stuff doesn’t just vanish into thin air. It ends up as trash somewhere. That realization got me thinking about how I could live with less waste. I’m definitely not perfect—far from it—but I’m trying to move my life and my work in a more sustainable direction, little by little.

This newsletter is my way of sharing the small lessons I’ve picked up along the way—about letting go, simplifying, and finding tiny wins in everyday life. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about progress. If my journey toward a simpler, more intentional life inspires even one person, I’ll call that a win.
So here’s to slowing down, taking things one step at a time, and doing it all at our own pace.
Thanks for being here,
Penny
